Job Summary

Responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare team members. Ensures delivery of care tailored to the needs of the assigned population. Facilitates effective communication and partnership to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Maintains high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.

Essential Functions

• Obtains and documents health history, chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors while assessing disease conditions.

• Provides patient care in accordance with practice guidelines, standards of care, and applicable laws and regulations.

• Documents assessments, interventions, and the effectiveness and timeliness of care provided.

• Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers medications, and monitors and documents patient response.

• Utilizes safe medication practices, including the five rights of medication administration, barcode scanning, and unit-specific safety processes.

• Demonstrates knowledge of medication actions, usual dosages, indications, and side effects.

• Provides teaching and educational materials to patients and significant others based on care needs and identified risks.

• Documents patient and family understanding of education provided.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirement

Associate’s degree in nursing

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is preferred

Experience Requirement

0-2 years of experience in nursing, or a relevant area

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.

Certifications & Licensures

Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS),Basic Life Support (BLS), Oncology Nurse Certified (AOCN, BMTCN, CPHON, CPON, CBCN, OCN)

Physical Demands
