Summary

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Maintains and installs all security systems such as CCTV, access control, burglary alarms, panic alarms, infant abduction systems, and asset protection.  Helps design security systems to meet specific needs of the Medical Center during new construction, renovations, or specific security problematic areas.  Works with Security Technician to select and purchase security equipment as needed in the most cost-effective manner possible.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
    • Installs security systems in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations. Assures security equipment such as CCTV, access control, burglar alarms, and others are continuously in good working order by conduction maintenance and inspections as needed.
    • Works with other departments as needed to assist in coordination efforts of their security system needs
    • Writes incident reports and documents investigatory steps and results when needed.
    • Escorts visitors, patients and employees to and from parking areas when requested.
    • Remembers policies and procedures and effectively responds to codes and emergency situations.
    • Operates closed circuit television in Security Operations Center, software for card access, burglar alarms, and other security software.
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • High School diploma or GED
      • One year construction trades experience
      • Valid driver’s license, clean driving history, and clear criminal history are required.
    • Preferred qualifications:
      • Bachelor’s degree in related field
      • One year combined experience and education in designing, installing, and maintaining low-voltage security systems.
      • Extensive training and knowledge in the area of CCTV, computers, networking, access control systems, burglar alarms, and other physical security systems are preferred. 
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • While performing the duties of this job, the team member occasionally works in outside weather conditions.
    • Occasionally exposed to heat and cold extremes and temperature changes; Occasionally exposed to loud noises; occasionally exposed to moderate, noise; seldom exposed to vibration, toxic conditions, odors, dust, and poor ventilation.
    • Occasionally exposed to hazards or risk of bodily injury.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Occasionally required to maintain in a stationary position (standing or sitting).
    • Frequently required to walk and move about, including climbing ladders.
    • Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment.
    • Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move patients or equipment up to 100 pounds.
    • Occasionally required to communicate with patients, customers and other care team requiring talking and hearing.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
