Summary

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The primary duty of the Patient-Family Centered Support Associate position is to provide operational assistance and coordination for identified projects in the Division or in the Medical Center. In addition, this position will provide assistance with office duties including, but not limited to typing, filing, answering the telephone, copying, compiling and maintaining records, meeting arrangements, and ordering of equipment or supplies. This position will also assist in scheduling and staffing issues in addition to payroll.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Facilitates communication and cooperation between the Nursing Units, its business clients, patients and other hospital departments. Organizes, schedules dates, times and locations for meetings or in-services as needed.  Attends meetings designated by the Nurse Manager/Director, responsible for taking minutes and distributing them in a timely manner.
    • Ensures that all supplies are ordered according to KDMC policy and credited to the appropriate cost center.   Ensures that all general office duties (such as but not limited to) mailing, word processing, filing and paperwork processing are done in a professional and efficient manner.
    • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all patient and Team Member information.
    • Schedules and/or staffs units based on departmental staffing guidelines and effectively place all staff.  Keeps schedules and/or staffing records current and accurate. Notifies appropriate units and managers of “call offs” as they become known.
    • Performs general record keeping functions specific to the department and in accordance with established procedures such as File Maintenance, Nursing Licensure, Certifications, Invoices, Cab Vouchers, Gift Certificates and Meal Tickets.
    • Generates reports as directed by departmental standards and distributes to appropriate individuals as prescribed by departmental guidelines.
    • Participates in audits as directed by the Nurse Manager/Director
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of college education and experience.
      • One to three months of related experience.
      • Accurately types 35 CWPM.
    • Preferred qualifications:
      • Bachelor’s Degree
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • Works indoors in an office/clinic setting
    • The noise level is usually moderate
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Constantly required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer.
    • Frequently required to move about inside the department.
    • Constantly required to communicate telephonically and face to face with colleagues and customers.
    • Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.
    • Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
    • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
