Summary

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Responsible for ensuring the health system’s maintenance, construction and renovation projects, as well as equipment installations are preformed properly within a scope of work in which includes budgets, schedules and all applicable guidelines of state, local, Joint Commission, and CMS regulations.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
    • Manages internal coordination meetings and reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
    • Coordinates the work between the architectural and engineering teams
    • Communicates healthcare expertise and planning concepts to the Senior Leadership team, both verbally and through graphic and written reports
    • Serves as the main point of contact on planning issues
    • Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary
    • Ensures that construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control and best practice standards
    • Writes reports and memos to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions
    • Respond to RFI’s and issuing RFQ’s during construction phase
    • Participates in review of project costs and budgets, adherence to schedule
    • Acts as the project executive for new construction/redesign projects
    • Coordinate engineering services for Health System construction and renovation projects and/or programs to include preparing and/or evaluating proposed engineering designs, developing performance specifications and assisting in the supervision of project and/or program activities
    • Prepare cost estimates and assist in identifying expenditures to establish project budgets
    • Inspects and evaluates construction projects to ensure that materials and methods used are in compliance with established safety standards and specifications and to ensure the maintenance of sound engineering standards
    • Is responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM’s) and Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA)
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • Bachelor’s degree in construction, business, engineering, or a related field and/or 10+ years experience in the construction field. 
      • Experience in all phases of design and construction
    • Preferred qualifications:

    • This job operates in a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers.
    • Occasionally requires travel to and from off-site locations
    • The noise level in this position is usually low.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Frequently required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer or while presenting to individuals or groups.
    • Frequently required to move about throughout the Medical Center or while rounding.
    • Constantly required to communicate with people electronically, telephonically and in-person requiring talking and hearing.
    • Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.
    • Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
    • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
