Summary

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Under the direction of the Director of Financial Analytics and the Sr. Business Intelligence Developer, the Business Intelligence Developer designs, develops, and maintains business intelligence solutions. This position Crafts and executes queries upon request for data, presenting information through reports and visualization.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
    • The Business Intelligence Developer has a variety of responsibilities concerning data warehousing and intelligence applications and databases pertaining to both the financial and clinical sides of the health care business.   
    • Works with managers, directors, and the executive team to design, build, and maintain components of the business intelligence data warehouse and website, deliver numerous monthly data demands, all while fulfilling any ad hoc requests that might arise.
    • Exhibits flexibility in making use of whatever database and web presentation software is available to create new BI applications and reports.
    • Understand and arrange the organization’s data in an efficient and effective way to provide information to end users in various ways.
    • Design, build, test, and deploy user friendly database solutions that are utilized by decision makers throughout the organization.
    • Use software development languages and tools to design visually effective web solutions that are simple enough to be used but also versatile and detailed enough to be utilized in meaningful ways.
    • Respond in a timely manner to individual data requests across the organization.
    • Maintain database solutions and the current Business Intelligence website.
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems with two to four years of experience working with databases, OR a Bachelor's Degree in an unrelated field combined with four or more years of relevant work experience.  
      • Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel
      • Possess strong database skills, as well as the ability to translate and present information in an understandable and user-friendly manner. 
      • Ability to understand the architecture of any database and work with a data dictionary to navigate it to find and pull whatever data is requested.
    • Preferred qualifications:
      • Health care experience with EPIC software and/or financial experience with Lawson software.
      • Mastery of SQL is preferred.
      • Proficiency in web programming components such as .NET, ColdFusion, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is preferred. 
      • Proficiency in Crystal Reports is preferred. 
      • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server is preferred. 
      • Familiarity with Tableau is preferred.
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • Works indoors in an office/clinic setting
    • The noise level is usually moderate
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Constantly required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer.
    • Frequently required to move about inside the department.
    • Constantly required to communicate telephonically and face to face with colleagues and customers.
    • Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.
    • Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
    • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
