JOB SUMMARY
-
Detects malignant and premalignant conditions which are used for treatment and diagnosis of disease, disorder, etc. of body fluid by performing required duties and responsibilities.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-
Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
-
Perform microscopic evaluation of Gynecologic and Non-gynecologic specimens, to detect, pre-malignant, and malignant disease processes.

Assists with Fine Needle Aspiration procedures within varies locations throughout the Health System.

Maintains appropriate documentation of workload screening, meets quality indicators, and participates in all mandatory CAP surveys.

Performs STAT testing within established guidelines, and responds timely and effectively to requests for information regarding patient test results.

EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-
Minimum requirement:
-
Bachelor of Science degree in Cytotechnology Science required
-
ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Cytotechnologist certification or equivalent required.
