Job Summary

Responsible for supporting pharmacists in delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care by compounding medications, dispensing prescriptions, and maintaining accurate records. Coordinates patient access to medications through financial assistance programs, prior authorizations, and collaboration with healthcare teams. Provides training, technical support, and administrative assistance to ensure adherence to operational processes and standard operating procedures. Assists with staff scheduling, onboarding, and ongoing education to maintain high service standards. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and contributes to continuous process improvement within pharmacy services.


Essential Functions

• Assists area leadership with administrative duties, including training program development and staff scheduling.

• Trains, coaches, and evaluates staff, applying performance management and progressive discipline as needed.

• Develops, implements, and maintains operational processes and standard operating procedures.

• Compounds, packages, and labels sterile and non-sterile medication preparations under pharmacist supervision.

• Participates in delivery and restocking of patient-specific medications and automated dispensing cabinets.

• Manages inventory, orders medications and supplies, and monitors stock levels.

• Acts as liaison with hospital departments, physicians, and external customers regarding pharmacy operations.

• Participates in quality assurance and improvement initiatives and departmental committees.

• Supports the education of trainees, students, and observers in pharmacy operations.

• Performs other duties as assigned.


Education Requirement

High school diploma or equivalent and vocational/technical training in a designated technical area



Experience Requirement

2-5 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area


An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.


Certifications & Licensures

Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT)
