Job Summary

Responsible for assisting surgical teams by applying sterile and aseptic techniques under supervision. Supports intraoperative care by preparing instruments and supplies. Combines knowledge of anatomy, procedures, and technologies to facilitate physician performance during invasive procedures. Collaborates with experienced staff to enhance clinical skills in a dynamic environment. Ensures patient safety and quality care through adherence to established protocols.

Essential Functions

• Prepares for and performs age-specific surgical care for patients.

• Provides intraoperative care based on patient needs and surgical procedures.

• Adheres to principles of aseptic practice and infection control.

• Performs sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy.

• Cares for surgical specimens and cultures appropriately.

• Assists with patient positioning, supply readiness, and patient transport.

• Maintains a clean and safe surgical environment, including terminal cleaning and room preparation.

• Facilitates smooth transitions between surgical procedures.

• Uses resources and equipment efficiently for patient care.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirement

High school diploma or equivalent experience

 -Currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program

    -Successfully completed all clinical training as defined by the accredited Surgical Technology program OR completion of in-classroom training (first semester) of an accredited         Surgical Technology program

No work experience required

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
