Job Summary

Responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-level telecommunications infrastructure. Provides expert leadership in voice, video, and data distribution systems, guiding major construction, renovation, and modernization initiatives. Serves as the primary technical authority coordinating cross-functional teams—including architects, vendors, and IT staff—to ensure secure, scalable, and standards-driven installations. Drives operational excellence by mentoring junior staff, advancing process improvements, and shaping project outcomes.


Essential Functions

• Leads design and implementation of complex telecommunications infrastructure solutions, including fiber optic, copper cabling, and related systems, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational objectives.

• Serves as technical escalation point for advanced troubleshooting and resolution of cable plant and telecommunication issues across multiple projects.

• Oversees preparation and review of design documentation, technical specifications, and project drawings for both new and existing facilities, ensuring high quality and compliance.

• Manages coordination with capital projects, estimation, and project management teams throughout all design and build phases, driving collaborative success.

• Ensures rigorous compliance with Division 27, BICSI, and internal cabling standards through inspections, technical reviews, and quality assurance activities.

• Leads bid package reviews, contractor oversight, and acceptance testing of telecommunications systems, ensuring vendor deliverables meet requirements and standards.

• Directs preparation and maintenance of detailed project documentation, inspection reports, and as-built records, providing reliable references and ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Mentors and develops junior engineers and technicians, fostering technical growth, skill development, and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to industry standards, processes, and tools, proactively driving continuous improvement.

• Performs other duties as assigned.


Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree


Experience Requirement: 7+ years of experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
