JOB SUMMARY
-
The Video Monitor Technician (VMT) role utilizes MedSitter remote patient safety audio and video monitoring technology, to remotely observe up to ten patients simultaneously. The objective of the remote patients’ safety monitoring program is to enhance patient safety. Utilizing MedSitter technology, the VMT will observe, communicate and document behaviors that could be disruptive to the patient plan of care.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
-
Recognizes and practices within scope of certification and competency levels and relays any questions, concerns or situations requiring follow-up or attention to the supervising RN/LPN and seeks assistance when necessary.

Effectively communicates pertinent information in shift-to-shift and transfer reports and documents items in EPIC as indicated.

Provides one-on-one supervision with patients via video monitoring.

Proactively redirects patients using audio and video technology.

EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-
Minimum requirement:
-
High School diploma or GED and completion of an approved State Registered Nursing Assistant Program.

Holds current certification as a State Registered Nursing Assistant in the State of Kentucky.

Achieves and maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
