Job Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating and implementing therapeutic activity programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being of residents. Provides support in designing and facilitating engaging activities that encourage participation and enhance quality of life. Ensures compliance with resident care plans, regulatory standards, and departmental procedures. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to assess resident needs and develop appropriate activity plans.
Essential Functions
• Plans and facilitates daily, weekly, and monthly recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and functional abilities.
• Assists in developing and maintaining individualized activity care plans in collaboration with nursing and therapy staff.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations governing activity program standards.
• Monitors resident participation and response, documenting progress and engagement in accordance with policy.
• Prepares, organizes, and maintains activity supplies and materials to support program implementation.
• Coordinates special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings to promote social interaction.
• Communicates effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage involvement and feedback.
• Supports volunteer coordination and training to enhance activity programming.
• Assists in maintaining records, reports, and documentation for audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
