Job Summary

Responsible for practicing medicine with physician supervision, conducting examinations, and providing diagnostic and therapeutic services across primary care and surgical specialties. Exercises autonomy in medical decision making and manages patient care in collaboration with supervising physicians. Enhances and advances the roles of advanced practice providers through recruitment, retention, credentialing, and professional development initiatives. Serves as a resource for orientation, regulation, policy, and liaison activities between advanced practice teams and leadership. Supports education, research, and administrative functions to contribute to the success of the health system.


Essential Functions

• Assesses patient status through interviews, chart reviews, and physical examinations.

• Orders and interprets laboratory, diagnostic, and therapeutic tests.

• Develops and implements treatment plans, including prescribing medications and procedures.

• Educates patients and families on medications, treatments, health promotion, and illness prevention.

• Documents clinical activities promptly and accurately in medical records.

• Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to manage patient care.

• Provides leadership, mentoring, and support to advanced practice providers.

• Participates in quality assurance, peer review, and staff education activities.

• Enhances operational effectiveness and contributes to strategic planning and patient-centered practices.

• Performs other duties as assigned.


Education Requirement

Master’s degree in a nurse practitioner program, physician assistant program, or a related field



Experience Requirement

3+ years of experience in a relevant area


An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.


Certifications & Licensures

Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C), Basic Life Support (BLS)

Physical Demands
