Job Description:

Job Summary

Responsible for performing and assisting with radiographic exams and related procedures under direct supervision. Participates in patient care activities, including obtaining patient history, conducting chart reviews, and completing associated paperwork. Performs a variety of clerical tasks to support imaging operations. Ensures adherence to safety and quality standards in all procedures. Coordinates with radiology staff to facilitate efficient workflow and patient care.

Essential Functions

• Assists with patient care needs using two patient identifiers during transport and transfers.

• Transports patients safely and efficiently within and across departments.

• Assists Radiologic Technologist with preparing and cleaning exam rooms, preparing patients, stocking supplies, and answering phones.

• Reviews patient charts and prior imaging in accordance with HIPAA to support radiology staff.

• Understands and applies general usage and positioning needs for routine examinations.

• Provides positive and effective communication with patients, visitors, and staff.

• Assists in emergency care as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirement

Minimum requirement:

  • Actively enrolled in an Accredited Radiologic Technology educational program.  May perform tasks as limited per state licensing guidelines.

Experience Requirement

No work experience required

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.

Physical Demands

Also involves some exposure to risk or injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to radiation, cuts/punctures, and bloodborne or airborne pathogens.
