Job Summary

Responsible for planning, supervising, and evaluating patient care and nursing practice to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations. Directs business, technical, and nursing support activities within the unit or clinic. Coordinates quality improvement initiatives, monitors performance metrics, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization. Provides leadership, guidance, and accountability for staff and overall unit performance.


Essential Functions

• Assures delivery of safe, efficient, and personalized care through patient rounding, documentation audits, and observation of team members while maintaining compliance with CMS, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory standards.

• Manages departmental staffing by coordinating schedules, recruiting, hiring, orienting, and retaining staff, and ensuring coverage aligns with patient needs and budget requirements.

• Enhances professional growth and development of the team through performance evaluations, identification of educational needs, coordination of training, and accountability to policies and procedures.

• Monitors and analyzes operational budgets, manages resources, and implements actions to improve productivity and control expenditures.

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, administration, and external partners to develop and implement standardized processes, protocols, and care standards that improve quality, safety, and patient outcomes.

• Oversees compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and licensure requirements, and ensures ongoing staff education regarding policies, protocols, and standards.

• Promotes a patient-centered culture by modeling service excellence, addressing patient and staff concerns, and driving initiatives to improve satisfaction and engagement.

• Assumes responsibility for personal professional development, maintains required licensure and certifications, and participates in committees and professional organizations.

Education Requirement

Associate's degree in nursing

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, or a related field preferred



Experience Requirement

4-5 years of experience in nursing or a relevant area


An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.


Certifications & Licensures

Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Based on area assigned: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI), NIH Stroke scale certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
