JOB SUMMARY
-
Administers respiratory therapy care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of cardio-pulmonary system, as prescribed under supervision of Physician.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-
Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
-
Carries out routine therapy as ordered by the Physician including, but not limited to, oxygen administration, bronchodilator therapy, volume expansion therapy and bronchial hygiene therapy.

Provides information and education to patient and family regarding therapy being performed.

Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy and notifies physician of any adverse reactions.

Assist in emergency care

EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-
Minimum requirement:
-
A student enrolled in an Accredited Respiratory Therapy educational program. May perform tasks as limited per state licensing guidelines.

Must maintain the appropriate licensure through the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care.

Achieves and maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
