Receives, stores, and issues equipment and supplies and complies stock records in stockroom.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-
Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:

Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices and notes damages or discrepancies on freight bills or packing lists. Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications. Matches purchase order number product code numbers and descriptions of delivered materials to corresponding information in computer database.

Unpacks delivered goods and stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves. Fills orders or issues supplies from stock. Transports materials to and from the receiving dock, storage areas, and user departments.

Compiles reports on adjustments or inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments. Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issues. Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock.

Maintains adequate supply levels in all patient areas; and per Joint Commission requirements. Assists in performing periodic cycle counts and physical inventories. Maintains inventory and other stock records.

Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.

Returns unwanted or damaged goods or items for repair to vendors.

Removes empty containers, packing materials, and other waste from the storeroom; picks up trash from the floor and shelving; dusts shelves as required.

EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirement:
-
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Current driver’s license

Preferred qualifications:

One to three months related experience and/or training

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
-
This job operates on the hospital receiving dock, office environments and other environments that may be subject to weather conditions.
-
Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
-
Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
