Job Summary

Responsible for leading classroom activities and directing Teaching Assistants in daily responsibilities. Supervises and ensures the safety and well-being of children at all times. Observes and responds to the needs and problems of individual children and groups. Implements and follows all CDC policies while guiding Assistant Teachers through the daily curriculum.


Essential Functions

• Plans and executes daily classroom activities, outdoor play, and gym time.

• Coordinates room decoration with seasonal and theme-related displays.

• Maintains compliance with state and local health department regulations.

• Cleans and disinfects classroom surfaces, toys, and learning resources.

• Handles discipline promptly and according to policy.

• Informs leadership of classroom concerns regarding children, families, or team members.

• Maintains clear and effective communication with parents.

• Reports suspected child abuse or neglect according to policy.

• Maintains confidentiality regarding children, families, and team members.

• Performs other duties as assigned.


Education Requirement

High school diploma or equivalent experience, Associates dregree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate



Experience Requirement

2-3 years of experience in a relevant area


An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
