Job Description:

Job Summary

Responsible for providing health care services using high frequency sound waves for medical purposes. Produces, utilizes, recognizes, and analyzes ultrasound images and patterns for patient diagnosis and treatment. Ensures image quality and accuracy to support effective clinical decision-making. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.


Essential Functions

• Verifies patient identity and examination orders, obtains clinical history, and communicates relevant information.

• Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures clearly.

• Performs ultrasound procedures across multiple specialties, including vascular, abdominal, retroperitoneal, OB/GYN, Doppler, and Color Doppler.

• Observes and responds to patients’ physical and psychological needs during procedures, monitoring for signs of distress.

• Operates and maintains complex ultrasound equipment, demonstrating competency in all required techniques.

• Provides technical assistance for surgical biopsy and aspiration procedures, maintaining a sterile field.

• Performs diagnostic testing on equipment and promptly reports malfunctions to appropriate personnel.

• Leads and coordinates the day-to-day work of the vascular ultrasound team.

• Performs other duties as assigned.


Education Requirement

Graduate of a JRCERT accredited program



Experience Requirement

5-7 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area


An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.


Certifications & Licensures

Registered Vascular Technologist or Registered Vascular Sonographer, Basic Life Support (BLS) certifcation

Physical Demands
