Business Office Clerk

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Business Office Clerk is responsible for the flow of documents throughout the Business Office. Will sort, scan, and deliver information supporting the billing and collection of patient receivables.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
    • Effectively and efficiently sorts incoming mail and other documents into useful batches
    • Updates supporting systems as needed with images and notes appropriately
    • Communicates effectively with the rest of the Business Office team
    • Identifies improvements or trouble spots in their workflows and communicates these to their leader 
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • High School diploma or GED
      • Insurance billing experience and familiarity with medical terminology
    • Preferred qualifications:
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • Works indoors in an office/clinic setting
    • The noise level is usually moderate

    • Constantly required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer.
    • Frequently required to move about inside the department.
    • Constantly required to communicate telephonically and face to face with colleagues and customers.
    • Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.
