JOB SUMMARY
-
The CDC Reception Desk Clerk greets all children, families and members, monitors and approves entrance to the CDC classrooms and provides clerical support to the Center and Site Director and provides back up support to Dietary Department, and classrooms as needed.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:

Opens/closes for business each day including but not limited to: securing the building after the last classroom closes, records each child and staff leaving at the end of the day, completes a walk through to ensure that each classroom is empty and maintained properly, and unlocking/locking doors.

Maintains data for CDC by entering information into computer using EZ-CARE Software.

Answers telephone and conveys messages. Sorts and distributes mail.

Responsible for computing and forwarding childcare charges for KDMC employees to KDMC payroll department. In the absence of the Site Director assists with processing CDC payroll and Community/KDHS childcare charges.

Prepare monthly newsletters for distribution to parents.

Provides registration packets and tours for potential families in the absence of the director. Monitors and approves entrance to classrooms from the main lobby: notifies KDMC Security as needed/appropriate. This includes team members, families, visitors and vendors.

Prepares FEDERAL FOOD PROGRAM monthly attendance sheets.

In the absence of the Site Director maintains classroom ratios by assigning team members for a shift or for rest periods and meal breaks. Adjusts schedules and coordinates placement pf substitute teachers as needed.

Under the direction of the Site Director, coordinates special CDC events including field trips, class celebrations, team member recognition and continuing education.

EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-
Minimum requirement:
-
One year certification from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Attend continuing education seminars/workshops.
-
Be certified in CPR and First Aid.

Have a current state criminal record check on file
-
Must have a valid driver’s license without restrictions

This job operates in a professional classroom or office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers.
