Sup-Patient Registration

Job Summary:  

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of patient access and registration to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and a positive patient experience. This role provides frontline leadership for staff performing scheduling and insurance verification, while ensuring compliance with established policies, payer requirements, and regulatory standards. The Supervisor serves as a key resource for staff and patients, assisting with workflow coordination, issue resolution, and continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Functions: 

  • Supervise patient registration staff to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely completion of registration and access functions. 

  • Provide coaching, training, and daily guidance to staff to promote professional growth and accountability. 

  • Monitor staff productivity, quality, and adherence to departmental performance standards and key performance indicators (KPIs). 

  • Assist in resolving escalated patient registration or financial clearance issues, including insurance coverage and authorization concerns. 

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies in all registration activities. 

  • Prepare and review reports on staff performance and registration activities to identify areas for improvement. 

  • Support initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and improve service delivery. 

  • Collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle teams to ensure smooth handoffs and efficient workflows. 

  • Participate in departmental meetings, workgroups, and projects to support patient access and organizational objectives. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent  

Experience Requirement: 0-4 years of related/progressive experience  

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
