Courier II

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Courier II position delivers mail, packages and other items to appropriate office and other departments.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
    • Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
    • Travels to delivery site on foot or by automobile.
    • Receives laboratory specimens and delivers to the laboratory in a timely and safe manner.
    • Delivers mail and packages to physician offices.  Delivers mail and other packages to mailroom for distribution.
    • Receives and distributes supplies as necessary to both laboratory and physician offices.
    • Obtains receipts for articles delivered.
    • Services vehicles driven, such as checking fluid levels and replenishing fuel.
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
      • Current driver’s license
    • Preferred qualifications:
      • N/A
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • Regularly required to travel by car.
    • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts
    • Regularly exposed to blood and/or body fluids and infection 
    • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
    • Occasionally exposed to risk of radiation
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Frequently required to maintain a stationary position (standing or sitting)
    • Regularly required to walk and move about
    • Occasionally required to operate a computer and other equipment
    • Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices
    • Regularly required to lift and/or move parcels and deliveries up to 50 pounds
    • Regularly required to communicate with other care team requiring talking and hearing
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
