KDMT Driver

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The KDMT driver position involves transferring patients safely to and from private individual’s homes, nursing facilities, and hospitals. 
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
    • Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
    • Transports patients to and from private individual’s homes, nursing facilities, and hospitals. Required to load the patient in and out of vehicle.
    • Follows instructions from dispatcher/call-taker and safely drives ambulette to specific locations.
    • Conducts daily vehicles and maintenance inspections prior to beginning route.  Ensures vehicles and equipment is clean at all times.
    • Preforms efficient route management and correspondence with dispatch teams, while maintaining privacy of patient information.
    • Responsible for keeping logs of their trips for record-keeping and billing purposes.
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
      • Basic Life Support (BLS)
      • Current Driver’s License
      • Completes annual emergency vehicle operators cours
    • Preferred qualifications:
      • NA
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • Constantly required to operate motor vehicle.
    • Constantly exposed to weather condition which may be adverse and will vary depending on daily changes.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Frequently required to walk and move about.
    • Frequently required to push and/or pull items up to 250lbs.
    • Constantly required to maintain a stationary position (sitting).
    • Constantly required to communicate with patients requiring talking and hearing. 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
