Rad Tech-MRI (Reg) Lead

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Rad Tech-MRI Lead works closely with the department Manager, Director and Radiologist to insure overall quality within the MRI department is maintained.  Leads the team in day to day operations and looks for opportunities to recognize and coach team members as necessary.  Serves as the point person for issues that arise in the MRI department and works to resolve those issues accordingly.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
    • Orders supplies to meet department needs and maintain smooth MRI operations.
    • Assures department compliance with MRI safety regulations by observation and routine audits.  Works to improve overall MRI quality and safety.
    • Functions as a MRI tech and completes examinations as needed based on staffing and schedule (see Rad Tech-MRI job description).
    • Leads and directs the work of others to maintain high patient satisfaction and quality results.
    • Works closely with Supervisor and other departments to handle any workflow issues.
    • Protocols exams and works to get changed orders when necessary.
    • Schedules and coordinates inpatient anesthesia cases.
    • Works closely with Radiologist to schedule call back patients.
    • Coordinates with scheduling on Stat exams.
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiography program or equivalent. 
      • Maintains active R.T.(R)(MR) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
      • Maintains active Radiographer Operators Certificate (ROC) in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or other applicable states as needed.
      • Achieves and maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • Preferred qualifications:
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • Constantly works near moving mechanical parts
    • Constantly exposed to blood and/or body fluids and infection. 
    • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
    • Occasionally exposed to risk of radiation
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Occasionally required to maintain in a stationary position (standing or sitting).
    • Frequently required to walk and move about.
    • Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment.
    • Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices.
    • Constantly required to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds.
    • Frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds.
    • Constantly required to communicate with patients and other care team requiring talking and hearing. 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
    • Occasionally required to position self in order to meet patient needs.
