Workforce Development Manager

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Workforce Development Manager works closely with high schools, technical schools, universities and others to support workforce development efforts. The position acts as a liaison between the organization and institutions to support growth and development in an effort to meet the growing needs to support our healthcare workforce.
  • DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
    • Maintains knowledge of the various positions in the Health System and is well versed in the education/certifications requirements in each position in order to best inform students.
    • Collaborates with recruiting team to attend job fairs, recruiting events and open houses ; prepares information packets and updates information based on Health System needs. Gathers qualified job seekers’ contact information.
    • Communicate regularly with school career centers and program faculty to build relationships and create a positive brand image on the campus.
    • Works with Marketing to plan and implement a Recruitment Marketing and Employer Branding strategy to attract high quality applicants entering the workforce.
    • Leads the planning and implementing student experiences/programs within the Health System.  Ensure students are oriented to program and position expectations.  Connects students to KDMC managers/departments.
    • Facilitates in partnership with key leaders to plan, develop, and manage workforce programs and initiatives.   
    • Understands forecasting staff for Health System 
    • Works with recruiting to follow-up with enrolled students to ensure engagement and aware of KDHS opportunities and hiring process.
    • Creates and facilitates programs for students of all age groups in developing a pathway for success, and recognizing potential barriers to success.
    • Builds and maintains relationships with key workforce stakeholders in education and the community
    • Participates in health system processes to lead workforce development strategies
    • Determine the effectiveness and success of current recruiting plans and strategies
    • Build talent networks to find qualified active and passive candidates, Use multi-channel approach to recruit.
    • Prepare reporting on a monthly  basis for the tasks completed or in progress with local and regional schools and universities
    • Seek feedback from the community and partners regarding workforce efforts and challenges
    • Operate the King’s Daughters Workforce Institute, aligning its goals to those of the health system. 
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • Bachelor Degree human service related field of study
      • Effective written and verbal skills
      • 1 year of related experience in general or college recruiting, or Human Resources
      • Maintains active driver’s license
    • Preferred qualifications:
      • 3 years of experience within an post graduate institution
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • This job operates in a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers.
    • Occasionally requires travel to and from off-site locations
    • The noise level in this position is usually low
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Frequently required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer or while presenting to individuals or groups.
    • Frequently required to move about throughout the Medical Center or while rounding.
    • Constantly required to communicate with people electronically, telephonically and in-person requiring talking and hearing.
    • Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.
    • Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
    • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
