Business Partner I

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Reports directly to and works under the supervision of the Director-Business Partners and the Director of Human Resources. The Business Partner is a positive, strategic consultant to Leaders and their teams. This position works collaboratively to drive and sustain a positive KDMC culture. This position coaches team members and Leaders to demonstrate behaviors that will drive best business outcomes. The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
    • Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
    • Consults with Leaders, providing HR guidance on policies, performance management, process improvement facilitation, workforce planning, business unit restructures, and staffing.
    • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
    • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
    • Leads the recruitment and on boarding process assuring qualified candidates are hired and serves as a liaison to staffing agencies, colleges, and industry associations to assist in meeting staffing needs.
    • Serves as a resource to team members regarding any HR related questions such as career opportunities, benefits, professional growth, workplace concerns, etc.
    • Trains and participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • Bachelors degree
      • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
      • Excellent communication skills
      • 2 years relevant industry experience
      • Excellent problem solving skills
      • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Preferred qualifications:
      • SHRM Certified Professional
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers.
    • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area travel may be expected.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Constantly required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer or in front of display while representing KDHS at job fairs and events.
    • Frequently required to move about while rounding on departments served, touring potential hires or presenting.
    • Constantly required to communicate with others electronically, telephonically and in-person requiring talking and hearing.
    • Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
